7 Years of Lowup ft JUS NOW, SEROCEE & PELIKANN

After seven years of “dangerous nightclubbing” and three years as a record label Brussels global bass collective Lowup surely has something to celebrate! Friday the 8th of May is the date, Recyclart is the place and this is the line-up -> -> ->

Top billing and appearing in Belgium for the first time:

Jus Now is the musical tag team of Interface, a DJ/producer from Bristol, and Lazabeam, a percussionist/producer from Trinidad, the home of soca music. Underpinning Caribbean rhythms with the sub heavy production values of the UK underground is their trade and merely judging by the slew of big names from the worlds of dancehall, soca, afro beats and UK bass they collaborated with over the last couple of years (Beenie Man, Bunji Garlin, Stylo G, Fuse ODG, Machel Montano, Kes The Band, Dismantle, DJ Champion…) it is safe to say they are doing something right. Their single “Tun Up” was one of last year’s undisputed party anthems, crossing over into numerous scenes by way of strong remixes by the likes of Kahn, Dismantle and New York Transit Authority. As a vocal support they are bringing Serocee, a powerhouse MC of British-Jamaican descent that can navigate the uncharted territories between bashment and bass music like no other. He rolls by the adage of “rum and bass” and has worked with Basement Jaxx, General Levy, Roots Manuva, MJ Cole, Zed Bias, Warrior One and Toddla T to name but a few.

As if this wouldn’t suffise we went ahead and got ourselves another Belgian premiere:

Young Pelikann firmly established his name through the course 2014 with a string of highly infectious bootlegs, remixes and original tracks only to see his most recent EP reach the top of the bass music charts within two weeks of its release. He is a true master of the contemporary bass/house sound (remember DJ Champion at Recyclart?) but is equally adept in crafting first rate trap, grime, juke or drumstep.

7€ < 00.00 > 10€ – starts 23.00 – ends 5.00 – 21 rue des Ursulines 1000 Brussel
